In Search For The Perfect B'day Gift...

Tonight at 7pm, Kat & I will be at our church celebrating Stephanie's 18th b'day!! (A Harvest Youth member.) For the past couple of weeks I had been wracking my brain for gift ideas. Finally, after talking with her mom, I found something I could create...JEWELRY!! I learned what her favorite colors were and the type of jewelry she likes and took off from there.

SILVER--PINK--BLACK...hmmm

It took me a while because I created and recreated the tassel at least 4 times before giving it a thumbs up. Praying the recipient also gives it her approval...

I've also decided to give her these pair of fingerless gloves that I made...
though I will add either bows or create a fabric flower to adorn the tops.

Discovering A New Craft...Fingerless Gloves!!

I came across this website (The Crafting Chicks) early Wednesday morning and found THIS blog post on how to make Arm Warmers/Half Gloves. I nearly jumped for joy at how simple they were to make considering I'd just started searching for some to prepare for the cooler weather and most were out of my price range.

Having rheumatoid arthritis, gloves help control the pain in my wrists...however, the fingertips tended to get in the way of daily chores. I cut the tips off of a pair of gloves last year, but eventually the ends unraveled and rolled and became uncomfortable when trying to hold or grip something. So you can now imagine my excitement!!

Kat & I tried looking at Walmart for the type of socks needed, but all they had were the thick, fuzzy kind. Then I remembered that the post mentioned Target and off we went!! We felt blessed when we found them to be ON SALE for $1.40 each!! WOOTALOOTIE!!

THIS IS WHAT I CREATED:
I chose not to add the "flower" on top of these since I wanted something more simple but if I create another batch I may give it a go.
