I'm Insane...

It wasn't my intention to stay up until 6am. I felt perfectly fine when I went to bed yesterday evening. Maybe the heat made me do it...NO...maybe the allergies made me do it...NO...maybe it was just the inability to fall sleep last night that made me do it. Maybe it was all 3. Whatever it was, I scrapped 4 more page!! I should have my head examined...I could have spent all that time that I was playing on PSP in my kitchen painting...but my bed felt comfy, the floor fan was blowing a cool breeze & I didn't even think about getting up to do other things.

Allergies, Heat & CT-Work

For the past 2 days I've been sick. I should have known something was up Friday night when my right eye started itching and wouldn't stop watering. (EVEN WHILE SLEEPING!!) ARGH Saturday morning it was so bad, that I had to take out my contacts, walk through the house blind to find my glasses and went through an box of tissue to combat my watering eye and my nose that decided to join in the festivities. Though I did manage to wash a load of laundry, cook dinner and clean the kitchen, for the most part, I stayed in bed and drank plenty of fluids while eating allergy meds like candy every 4-6 hours.

Today has been a LOT better. My eye is no longer itchy or watering. My nose can suddenly breathe again, and I managed to get up, run to the grocery store with hubby for a couple of items we ran out of, cook dinner and clean the kitchen again. Still pretty weak though. My body feels as if someone has beat me black and blue, but by golly I can BREATHE and SEE again. ROFL!!

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD, IT'S HOT!! The temps has been in the upper 90's this week, but it's the humidity that has been the kicker!! We've been under an orange air quality alert and my lungs are really feeling it...I think an elephant has sat on my chest! Had to hit my inhaler twice this week.

While lounging in my bed, I needed something to pass the time, and what better way to do it than catching up on scrapping photos and fulfilling my CT obligations to Veronica...

Getting Back To CT Work and UPDATES

After a long hiatus, due to server problems, Veronica Spriggs is up and running once more!! *Doing happy dance* This means you'll be seeing a lot more of me!! *giggles*

UPDATES: Robert's graduation ceremony left me in tears. Will scrap all of the photos as time permits.

I've completely finished the "purging of my home" project. Every nook, cranny, box, closet, crevice & cabinet couldn't hide from me. I removed so many knic knacks, clothing, furniture & linens from my home that I'm now able to see walls and floors that I forgot we had!! *oops* Though I feel amazing that I completed this major task, it's far from over. Now the remodeling, rearranging & decorating begins.

ON THE TO-DO LIST:
PORCH
  1. Purchase lumber, trim and doors
  2. Carefully unroll, measure & cut "no-see-em" screen (that came in mail while I was away)
  3. Screen in back porch
FLOORS
  1. Rip up carpet in den, kitchen & living room
  2. Install hard wood floors
  3. Either sand and stain floors or paint floors
  4. Find several braided rugs varying in size
KITCHEN
  1. Remove everything in kitchen
  2. Take down single upper cabinet on right side of sink (Keep for new project)
  3. Paint cabinet, walls & ceiling white (keep wrought iron hardware black)
  4. Install 4 white shelves (supported by wrought iron shelf brackets) of different lengths to replace single cabinet
  5. Use shelves to display/store glasses, coffee cups, plates, bowls, china, mixing & storage bowls
  6. Convert double cabinets (that originally held all of above mentioned) on left side of sink into "pantry"
  7. Convert Lower single cabinet on right side of sink as storage of oversized pots, pans, and small appliances (that originally was "pantry"
  8. SELL kitchen table and chairs
  9. Replace table for center island with storage on one side/bar with stools on other.
  10. Remove make-shift counter hubby installed beside refrigerator
  11. Move fridge to spot make-shift counter was located.
  12. Place pie cabinet in original fridge spot.
BATHROOM
  1. Remove sink, bubble tub & toilet
  2. Remove unfinished side original flooring
  3. Replace plywood floor & joists as needed
  4. Reinstall sink & toilet (may need to replace bubble tub depending if hubby can repair motor for jet sprayers)
  5. Install "Grab Rails" near toilet and tub
  6. Install new wall insulation
  7. Install new drywall
  8. Purchase stack kit adapter, longer dryer vent hose and place dryer on top of washer
  9. Finish trim & electrical
  10. Paint walls & ceiling white
  11. Use boards from old pallets for flooring and walls with whitewash treatment
  12. Paint floors with SEVERAL coats of polyurethane
  13. Decorate with beach/light houses
Of course, I'll also be taking plenty of before, during & after photos of these projects. HA! (Which reminds me, I need to upload my Florida Vacation scrap pages I finally scrapped...lol)

Until then...that leaves me with showing you my latest CT scrap page.

Textin' Template Layout: 01-Love

It's only been recently that I started using templates. (Since winning a bunch for completing an ADSR3 challenge.) I'm so used to my artistic/freehand style of scrapbooking, and the templates offer a bit more structure...not a natural gift for me...LOL!! However, Veronica just created new templates that are right up my ally overflowing with artistic flair!! They're called Textin' Templates and are absolutely amazing. (Now if I can learn how to twist my text into swirls in PSP like she did in PS...hehehe)

And Spring arose on the garden fair,
Like the Spirit of Love felt everywhere;
And each flower and herb on Earth's dark breast
rose from the dreams of its wintry rest.

Bloom N Grow

Today, I came across a photo of my nephew Josiah that was taken December 10, 2007. I can't believe how much he has grown since then!! He just looked too precious in this pose, that I had to scrap him...lol!!

I'm Doing CT Work Again...

I should have my head examined. It's not like I have loads of extra time lying around. My days are filled with cleaning house, homeschooling Kat, running errands, tending to our growing zoo, and trying to complete my ADSR3 challenges and SSTPSP lessons. I guess I figured my life didn't have enough stress, because I told Tina Williams that I would continue to CT for her (even though I haven't done any CT work for her since November when she let me go as a designer in her store...due to lack of time on my part)...AND I just got invited to be on Veronica Spriggs CT.

Well...actually my ADSR3 challenges will be over after this week, so technically I would be able to squeeze the CT work in, especially since Tina revamped her requirements to 1 layout per kit, and Veronica's is 2 per kit. As for posting...I figured I would just upload to my regular galleries, yahoo groups and blogs and I'd be covered....lol (will have to do some major time management on the uploading though, as I'm out of practice and need to create a new routine)

So anywhoos...today I decided to download Veronica's kit ALONG MULBERRY LANE...

This is my first layout...Aldridge Gardens / 3-27-2008
