Thankful Thursday...
I'm thankful...
- That another month of bills have been paid with enough left over for groceries!!
- For my incredibly sweet hubby. (Is it possible to fall MORE in love with your spouse with each passing day?)
- For the rain we've received and that all of the severe weather went around us.
- For talented jewelry designers/crafters/artists that share their ideas and tutorials online. (I've found SO MANY cool ideas for Christmas gifts this year!!)
- For baggy clothing because it means I can buy a smaller size!! (I am smaller now then when I first met hubby nearly 12 years ago...10's/Mediums never looked so good!!)
- For the changing of the leaves...it's my favorite time of the year!! I LOVE FALL!!
- That Halloween is almost here...it's marks the beginning of my Christmas madness!! (When I start pulling out all of my boxes, totes and trees and decorate for the holidays!! YES, I really have to start decorating Nov 1st or I couldn't have it finished by Dec 1st...lol)
- For long soaks in hot water...it has helped ease my back and wrists the past 2 days.
- To know when to smile and keep my mouth shut...it just makes things a LOT easier when dealing with people that like to gossip or cause strife.
- For the massive amounts of encouragement I've received about my cooking changes and weight loss...it has meant the world to me!!

THANKFUL THURSDAY
Thankful Thursday, for me, started a long time ago between a group of friends that blogged on Multiply. Though I'd stopped blogging on Multiply and then finally here, I've continued to create a (mental) list of ten things I'm thankful for each Thursday morning. So to get myself back into the swing of things, I'm bringing this blog post back...
TEN THINGS I'M THANKFUL FOR TODAY:
TEN THINGS I'M THANKFUL FOR TODAY:
- Waking this morning in good health
- My restored joy and passion for worship
- For all of the people that God has placed in my life
- My amazing church family
- The roller coaster of motherhood
- Going through the valleys so I know how to appreciate the mountaintop
- For my marriage
- For the recent changes I've made in my life (food, meditation, creative outlets)
- That it's a glorious, fall day
- Reaching one of my weight-loss goals...wearing my daughter's clothes!!

Thankful Thursday...4-9-09
I'm thankful...
- Hubby knows how to do all kinds of jobs. (automotive, plumbing, electrical, construction, building PC's from scratch and keeping them running efficiently)
- Today is Thursday and I'll be spending most of the afternoon at a friend's house scrapbooking.
- My house is still clean.
- I have 4 freshly charged batteries so I can take photos of each room to show you the finished product...sorry...there are NO before photos. (Too embarrassing...but if you look hard enough through my previous posts/photos, I'm sure there are a few "before" bedroom photos to use as comparison for furniture arrangement.)
- I was able to go my fridge today to get breakfast!!
- Tomorrow is Friday and the beginning of Easter Weekend.
- My yellow Easter dress fits again and Kat has the cutest pair of yellow flats she is letting me borrow to wear with it!! The dress is only a few years old and still looks very stylish!! (Which means I get to save money!!)
- Kat and I are getting our hair done tomorrow. (She's going shorter!! *cries*)
- The temps are back in the mid to upper 70's again!!
- I am blessed with an amazing family and wonderful friends.

It's Thursday...Are You Thankful?
My health is good. I've not had an arthritis flair up in a while. My sugar and BP are within a normal range. I'm full of energy. And though I am experiencing a few sore muscles from all of the vigorous fridge cleaning lately, I feel amazing.
My house is nearly in order again. We still have the bathroom project and the kitchen floor to finish, so there are building materials stacked in the den...but all of the clutter has been removed from the rest of the house and it is looking great!!
Summer will be here before I know it. My remodel projects should be finished by then. Homeschool will be put on hold and Kat will probably be gone all the time. I will have a lot of free time on my hands.
I'm seriously thinking about working outside the home again. With my health better, the house in order and a summer with nothing to do...it feels like the perfect time.

I'm TRYING To Be Thankful...

2. Though Amber's mom treated Amber's hair and got rid of them, Matt shaved his head and treated his entire room and clothing and got rid of them, the SOB's STILL found their way into my hair again...and yet I'm thankful that it gives me a good excuse to do all of my laundry AGAIN and sort through my clothes to get rid of MORE things.
3. I am VERY thankful that I have Olive Oil in my pantry and am fully awake for the next 8 hours while the oil treats my hair as I do load after load of laundry and spray every surface that is covered with fabric that I've come in contact with...
4. Though hubby's best friend will have a hard time dealing with the next few weeks, I am thankful he is no longer with The Drunken Goddess and I don't have to worry about him as much.
5. Though it grieved hubby to get rid of the Thunderbird, I'm thankful he ended up selling it to Roger AND that Roger GAVE hubby the cherry picker!! (We were able to put gas in hubby's truck and purchase a few more groceries.)
6. Though I ended up sitting in hubby's truck for 2 hours in the humid, hot weather, I'm thankful that I was able to use the time to go through this week's sale papers and my new magazine.
7. I'm ESPECIALLY thankful for the REASON I had to sit in hubby's truck for so long...him filling out applications.
8. It's Thursday...I'm thankful that I get to pay bills tomorrow.
9. ACK!! It's Thursday...that means I forgot to call my phone company yesterday to get them to release all of the blocks on my phone number so that we can switch to digital phone...I'm thankful I can do it later today so that my digital phone can be installed by next Friday.
10. The buzzer just went off on my washing machine...I'm thankful this list is done.

1. I'm thankful that I have so many things that I can afford to donate to the thrift store.
2. I'm thankful that it's almost the weekend.
3. I'm thankful that I have a family that puts up with all of my decorating ideas.
4. I'm also thankful that I have a family that can LIVE THROUGH all of my decorating ideas since most of them takes months to complete.
5. I'm thankful I've learned to hold my tongue when dealing with rude bill collectors when the mistake was on their part. (Ok, this one needs some explanation. Received a very NASTY collection notice in the mail in my mother's name. She's been deceased for nearly 8 years. I call bill collection agency and explain that my mother died 8 years ago, I went in to the agency with a death certificate, and I was told at time the debt was then null and void to there being an insurance policy on the account and asked kindly why, after 8 years, were they sending nasty notes to my home reguarding something that was already taken care of. Woman gets nasty with me on the phone and says rudely, "Obviously someone has made a mistake typing out a number, the account was closed and I'm not going to sit here on the phone and argue this with you." She then hung up on me.)
6. I'm thankful that I kept hubby from calling back to explode on the woman.
7. I'm thankful that I was able to cook dinner for the next few days last night. (Technically, it was done this morning at 2am. The kitchen gets to hot to cook during the day, so have found it much easier on me to do the cooking in the early hours of the morning since I'm already awake.)
8. I'm thankful that Kat had an understanding boss today when she had to call in sick to work due to a migraine. (poor thing, she spent most of the day in bed with the room in complete darkness.)
9. I'm thankful that I've not dealt with my own migraines in a couple of months.
10. I'm thankful I made it to ten things today...
