Alphabet Scrapping & Playing With PSP Filters

After getting lost in PSP-land yesterday evening, I decided to start an alphabet scrapbook. A huge undertaking considering I need to come up with a subject for each letter...hahaha...but I think it's doable!!

Cleaning My Room Put On Hold...

With Kat being gone for the week, I felt it was the perfect time to clean hers and my rooms. Was finished with her room by lunchtime, then went with hubby to pick up OS and stopped by Walmart to order new pair of glasses, refill prescriptions and grab a few groceries. When we got back home I began to clean my room...but then an idea started floating around in my head for a scrap page. Instead of waiting 'til later (and possibly running the risk of forgetting the idea entirely) I entered PSP-land and pulled it together. I love it!!

In Celebration Of Kat's Birthday...

I can't believe it's been 17 years since my daughter came into this world!! So many emotions flood me as I think of all that has happened since that day...but the majority of those memories will be put on shelf for another day. Today I just want to celebrate, be happy, and remember how my heart swelled so big with love the moment she was placed in my arms.

Even though today is officially her birthday, her party was last night. It was a small party...family only. Kat, Tommy & I had dinner at our fave Chinese restaurant (though none of it agreed with me half an hour later...very embarrassing...but a story for another time). Afterward, we stopped by Walmart and she picked out a cake, selected a new bathing suit and grabbed a box of hair color. On the way home, we picked up Matt from work. Once home, Matt's GF (Amber) came over and we cut the cake. (I had a very tiny piece, but it didn't agree with my sensitive tummy either. *sgh*) Matt & Amber left while Tommy & I gave Kat her presents...and then she had me color her hair.

I would have preferred to do everything today, but she left just after church service to Myrtle Beach for the next week with Melody and her children, Nina, Deanna & Alex, which is why we planned everything last night. To keep me from just breaking down in tears every 5 minutes, I decided to scrap a couple of pages.

Happy New Year!!

IT'S 2009!!

For the most part, it's been a busy day for me. Got up early to cook while watching the 2009 Rose Parade. (It's always fascinated me how they make their floats out of nothing but flowers and natural materials!!) Fed everyone, cleaned the kitchen, checked email & blogs and then caught up on the ADSR4 Rules.

YUP...it's that time again...The Amazing Digi Scrap Race-Season 4 begins on January 4th.
(For those unfamiliar...At NDISB, they've come up with a cool internet digital scrapping game that will mirror the excitement of the TV reality show "The Amazing Race." Teams of two will traverse the digital scrapping world, site by site, completing challenges and collecting prizes along the way. Everyone who completes the week's challenges in the allotted time frame will move on to the next week, where they can collect even MORE prizes! And at the end of the race, everyone who has traveled around the digi-world and completed each and every challenge will be entered into a drawing for the GRAND prize!) Last year was my first time to compete as half of the MAJOR CONTENDERS. We had so much fun together that Lilly & I teamed up again this year.


The rest of the day was spent in PSPland...with Matt & Robert being off with friends, Kat sick and sleeping in my bed, & hubby comatosed on the sofa in the den since lunchtime. I should have been locked up in my bathroom installing more river rocks...but just couldn't help myself. *giggles*

It's Almost Christmas...

and I'm rushing around like a chicken with it's head cut off. My youngest son, Robert, arrived home for the holidays on the 14th and it's brought me more joy than I can express having all of my family under one roof again.

My kitchen should have been finished by now, but I'm still waiting for the cast iron shelf brackets. And until they go up, I can't install my backsplash. OH...which reminds me, instead of using a tumbled, marble mini tiles, I've chosen river rock. Reason being...it's CHEAP and once I'm finished with my bathroom remodel (that's now on day 17) I'll have a ton of it left over.

Yup...day 17 of bathroom remodel...2 years in the making. So far we've replaced the flooring, installed insulation in the outer walls, replaced drywall, redone electrical, replaced part of the ceiling, and moved plumbing for my bubble tub. Now it's down to the details...installing river rock as a backsplash and on the framing for the bubble tub, paint the walls and ceiling, install and paint trim around windows and then i get to decorate!!

I haven't had much down time...but have managed to do a couple of scrap pages.

Don't Be Worried...I'm Still Alive!!

Had it not been for the concern of a dear friend there is no telling HOW LONG I would have gone without updating this blog. For the most part, I update my personal blog everyday, but by the time I run through email, go through the morning routine with our crazy zoo, have breakfast, clean house, work in the kitchen, cook dinner then go through the evening routine with our crazy zoo, I have no time left for ME.

As quickly as possible, I'll recap what's new...
KITCHEN REMODEL:
All walls textured and painted
Vinyl words installed on doorway
Carpet ripped off floor. Plywood temporarily painted
85% of cabinets painted inside and out
I still need to install laminated tile flooring.
I'm waiting on the arrival of 12 vintage cast iron shelf brackets so I can install my shelves.
Still need to take down ceiling fan and clean it, and paint ceiling.

OUR CRAZY ZOO IS GROWING:

I'm still doing my Meal Planning Mondays, making sense of all the jumbled mess in my brain on Ten Thought Tuesdays, donating items to the thrift store on Waste Not Wednesdays, creating a list on Thankful Thursdays, and running around like a lunatic on Frantic Fridays...just lately I've been forgetting to do them HERE. *blushes*

As for my scrapping/designing passion...it's still growing with leaps and bounds. I'm working on several scrap pages, but nothing finished yet. I have, however, designed and finished 2 paper packs, 1 fall kit, finishing a winter kit & got something magical in the works for Christmas. Still don't know when I'll be in a store again, but hoping to hear something real soon having signed and mailed off all my paperwork not long ago. *giggles*

From the moment I laid eyes on this photo of Carol's oldest daughter (known as Beautiful Masterpiece throughout her blog) I knew I had to scrap it!! There was such an enchanting and magical essence to the photo that I hope I did justice in showcasing it.
