My Home Is My Haven (Day 11 of 40 Days of Scrapping Purpose)

Created for Day 11 of 40 Days of Scrapping Purpose challenge. We were asked to scrap a page about why our home is our haven, using journaling, at least one photo and two brushes.

JOURNALING READS:
I'm a homebody, and because of this reason my home has become my haven. Over the years I've searched through magazines and have watched "do-it-yourself" shows for new ideas. Now, each room has become a reflection of who I am. They express my creativity, my love of family, and my passion for turning trash into treasured objects. So great is my passion, that I could get lost for hours in a single project. Finding new projects to keep me occupied is the best therapy of tuning out the craziness of the outside world.

Day 6 and 7 of 40 Days

Christmas has come and gone and I've managed to keep myself occupied so I don't have time to sit around and get depressed. It's the same every year...the excitement gets built up the day before, the presents get opened, the food gets eaten, and then the blues takes over.

This year I didn't let it happen. First of all, hubby was scheduled to work Christmas Day, so we planned to do "Christmas" on Christmas Eve. I got up early and cooked, we had dinner and opened gifts, then hung out the rest of the day watching Christmas movies. The day of Christmas, I got up early again to make my Christmas Sausage Bread, only to learn that hubby didn't have to work after all. They called to tell him that he wasn't needed. So we watched more movies and nibbled on all sorts of food throughout the day while Kat and OS went to exchange gifts with their friends.

By evening, kids back home, I decided to scrap more pages for the 40 Days of Scrapping Purpose Challenge at Divine Digital. Though each day gets tougher for me to accomplish, I'm so glad that I signed up for this one...it's really making me think differently about the way I scrap my family's memories!!

Day 6 is about what inspires me...

Day 7 is a love letter I had to write to myself...

12 Days Of Christmas...Gift 8 (Updates And Another LO)

I've been awake since 9:15am, and yet it is now 1pm and I'm JUST now getting online!! ARRGGHH!

My day started in a rush. OS was suppose to be at work at 9am, but we both ended up oversleeping. I woke as he came bursting through my bedroom door yelling, "LET'S GO!!" I look at the clock and moan. I get up, go to the bathroom to get ready and find 1 of 3 land mines that either one of the cats or Jack-Jack left in the doorway!! I quickly hoped one-footed to the bathroom and cleaned up.

After dropping off OS, I got back home, grabbed Kat and out the door we rushed to pay house note, drop off a package at the post office, then to Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries and last minute gifts. By the time I got back home, it was time to fix lunch. And so...here we are!! Another day of rushing around... Yesterday was DAY 2 of the 40 Days of Scrapping Purpose at Divine Digital. My quest was to scrap the reasons why I scrap using my own color palette, 3 fonts, and a new technique. This is what I created:

JOURNALING READS:
1. To Record Memories.

2. To Preserve Photos.

3. To Leave A Piece Of Me Behind.

4. To Spread A Little Love To Future Generations.

6. To Connect Future Generations With The Past.

7. To Have a Creative Outlet During My Bad Days.

8. To Feel A Sense Of Accomplishment.

9. To Express My Thoughts And Emotions.

10. To Relive Special Times And Events.

12 Days Of Christmas...Gift 7 (And Another New LO!!)

After sleeping 'til noon yesterday, my body wouldn't let me rest last night, so what do you think I did to pass the time?? I SCRAPPED!! Of course, I didn't scrap just anything...I entered another challenge. This time it's the 40 Days Of Scrapping Purpose at Divine Digital. Yesterday happened to be the first day...all about The Artist Within Me.

The journaling reads:
Creating a layout goes beyond
the doodles and the swirls.
It's a way to express the thoughts I had
when I was a little girl.
Each of the items on the page
were chosen with the utmost care.
Every paper and every element
has a reason for being there.
It's not about how the page will look
filled with flowers, doodles and bees
But how well I've been able to recreate
all of my memories.
