Ten Thought Tuesday...2/24/09

1. I feel amazing today.

2. Today's plan...to install flat river rock on the wall so that hubby can finally install the toilet. I'm TIRED of using the guy's bathroom next to the office.

3. I am actually loving the new eating habits...and have even started to learn how to do the diet exchange of meats, starches, fruits, milk, veggies & fats. I can't wait to see the dietitian next week to discuss my meals and ask a zillion questions.

4. My friend Judy (I met through Scrapbook Flair) told me about a diabetic cookbook that she has used for her husband and family for years which ultimately resulted in him losing around 70lbs!! I found and ordered a used copy through B&N for under $5 (incl s&h) and now awaiting it's delivery today or tomorrow.

5. I bought a daily planner yesterday and transferred all of my stats and meals from my mini notebook. With the planner, the pillbox, and my cookbooks in one central location in the kitchen (along with a post-it-note reminder about meds hanging on one of the kitchen cabinet doors)...I'm hoping it will make it easier for me to keep up with everything and stop forgetting stuff.

6. My BP monitor and my glucose meter stays beside my bed...with the exception when I leave home...my glucose meter goes in my purse (along with a snack) and travels with me in the event I'm out when it is time to check my sugar levels or it is snack time.

7. Hubby did an awesome job making and hanging my two built in spice shelves above my stove. Night before last I organized all of our spices, and they are now on the shelves along with 6 soup mugs, loaves of bread, sugar free snacks, chips & paper plates. I don't think there is an inch of space that isn't being used...lol (Now I just have to decide if I want to leave them rough looking or paint them white to match the cabinets and trim.)

8. I must be feeling better...I have this overwhelming need to clean everything top to bottom. For the past 3 days I contained my cleaning urges to the kitchen...now I want to spread out to another room.

9. I finally finished reading NOTHER WORLD by Aimee Maher. OMG!! I loved it!! I can't wait for her next one!!

10.I've got a TON of errands to run tomorrow and need to make a plan to include lunch and snack.

Ten Thoughts Tuesday 7/15/08

1. It's nearly 1pm and I'm still trying to get motivated enough to move.

2. Every muscle in my body is screaming in pain from yesterday's overexertion of removing grease, dirt & grime off of every surface.

3. The discovery of the leaning wall and the layers of flooring yesterday was a setback I wasn't expecting.

4. I spent some time reconfiguring the design, before bedtime, and I'm quite pleased with the new solutions

3. Sherry posted yesterday about the Making Your Home Your Haven challenge. I had to tweak the "cleaning routine" a bit since my entire house has been turned upside down while doing my kitchen, but overall is completely doable and I'm looking forward to adding this to my everyday routine.

4. Did you know that dog and cat hair will stick to walls, appliances and the underside of chairs and tables? Just what I found on the side of stove and dishwasher yesterday made me want to cry.

5. I've never been one to pull out appliances to clean behind them. Install and forget it had been my motto until yesterday's major cleaning. I'm thinking I need to incorporate "clean all surfaces of appliances" maybe every 2 weeks to control the dust and accumulation of pet hair.

6. Kat was healed during one of their drama nights in Jasper this past weekend. \0/ She no longer needs her glasses. She came home Sunday night jumping up and down and telling me all about it. *giggles*

7. Speaking of Kat's drama team...every weekend, for the rest of the summer, they are booked. (Some even being out of state.) She's getting a printed schedule for me tomorrow night so that I can keep up with everything.

8. Foraged through the pantry for dinner ideas…looks like we’re having Salmon Croquette with rice & green beans.

9. I can’t put it off any longer…I’m draining and sanitizing the freezer sometime TODAY so that I can start restocking this weekend when the child support check arrives.

10. Hubby woke up today happy and all smiles. I have no idea what put it there, but I’m glad to see him smiling again!

Ch Ch Ch Ch Ch Changes

I feel overwhelmed. So many new things going on in my life, that I don't know where to start!!

As you know, I've been knee-deep in summer projects in my home. Nothing completed yet, but that's OK, I can live with the house upside down for as long as it takes. I was going to rip up the carpets yesterday, but realized at last minute hubby couldn't be here when I take it up due his severe dust allergies and his asthma. (That I'll have to tackle on a day he's at work ALL DAY LONG!)

I just recently celebrated my 38th birthday on June 28th. Spent most of the day with OS & his GF browsing thrift stores and antique shops. Picked up a few good deals. That evening, hubby and I had dinner at my fave Chinese Restaurant...the perfect ending to an amazing day...until we got back home. My Aunt Lynette left a message for me to call back ASAP. When I returned her call she told me that Uncle Woodie (her brother) had passed away just a few hours earlier. I immediately threw some clothes in a bag and began making lists for the family so everyone knew what needed to be done around the house and who needed to be where at what time. Was going to head out that night, but Aunt Terri (Woodie's wife) told me to wait until morning so that I wouldn't be traveling alone at night. (This was the 2nd important male figure in my life to pass away on my birthday...the first being my Dad.)

After I returned home from Georgia 5 days later, my inbox was overloaded with 1200+ pieces of mail!! Most of them I deleted without a 2nd glance, but then noticed one from a friend asking if I'd be interested in designing and selling in her new store. I immediately said YES!! (Will give more details on store details later...) Though I've been dabbling & piddling with designing new kits for the past few months, it's been a while since I've done it full-time, so not sure how this will effect my creativity or what this will mean to my summer projects for our home, but gonna give it my best!!

This brings me to my final thought for today...since this is starting a new chapter in my life, it's time I update the look of my blog and revamp my designing name and logo. I've got something in the works, and will reveal it in the next few days or so. So keep your eyes open for the new changes.

My Tuesday's 10 Thoughts On Wednesday...

1. Lying on right side causes right nostril to stop working.

2. Lying on left side cause left nostril to stop working.

3. Lying with head elevated and centered causes BOTH nostrils to stop working. *sigh*

4. Standing up too quickly causes floor to come speeding up to head.

5. Head bounces on floor that is covered with carpet.

6, Head does not bounce on bathroom door.

7. Tongue feels furry and no longer can taste real food.

8. Ice Cream, Yogurt & Banana Pudding is the only thing that tastes normal and can stay down.

9. I've upgraded from water and juice to water and green tea.

10. After days of coughing up lungs, I no longer can talk.

11. Trying to talk without a voice makes me sound like a frog that has been squished.

12. Why do my eyes feel like they have hot pokers sticking in the back of them when I try to look left and right??

13. I wished my body would make up it's mind if it's cold or hot. I'm tired of moving the covers.

14. Managed to stay up longer than 5 minutes last night, but left me extremely exhausted and caused my body to hurt.

15. I think I've fallen in love with Nyquil!!

*sorry y'all...I tried to keep it to 10...
sprays Lysol and heads back to bed*

4. Creating overlays and papers is a blast!!
5. I can't believe that I'm having so much fun doing this!!
6. My time is now up being on Jen Ulasiewicz CT...so tomorrow my blog will be one "slide-book" less.
7. I really need to spend more time creating for Kathryn's CT or I may have to step down from the position.
8. I'm giving myself til Friday as a deadline to see if I can manage.
9. HOLY COW...I just looked at the clock and realized I've been awake for nearly 24 hours!!

Tuesday Thoughts...

#1. After being in a stage 3 drought for so long, it's nice to get some rain!!
#2. However, rain for 4 days straight hasn't lifted our water restictions.
#3. Kat and I took YS to our favorite Chinese restaurant today.
#4. For some reason, our waitress wasn't happy that we stayed longer than an hour, and continue to go back and forth to the "all-you-can-eat" buffet.
#5. I'm hurting more than normal today...thinking it has to do with it being so damp outside.
#6. The pain is bad enough that I'm thinking of breaking down and taking a pain pill.
#7. I hate taking pain pills...they make my brain feel furry.
#8. Having a furry feeling brain is the worst feeling in the world!!
#9. If I take a pain pill, I'll have to give up working on any kits for today...
#10. Hmmm...work on kits and deal with pain, or ease pain and have brain feel furry. Which is the better option??

Tuesday Thoughts...updates & LO's

#1. Being on 1 SCT, 3 CT's, 1 Temp CT & 1 Site-CT has kept me very busy the past couple of days.
#2. Though busy, I'm very thankful that I'm on each of these CT's!!
#3. Being on each CT is helping me learn how designers operate.
#4. Being on each CT has left me little time to design my own kits.
#5. So far being on this many CT's is working out time-wise, but if it starts cutting into family-time I'll have to leave one of them.
#6. If push comes to shove, choosing which CT to let go will be extremely difficult!!
#7. I love each and every designer to pieces!!
#8. Each designer has a unique style that I adore!!
#9. I hope that one day, my own designs equals theirs in beauty and in talent!!
#10. I pray that I don't have to leave any of my CT's soon...

**UPDATES**
After my eyesight fiasco of yesterday morning, and it clearing by the afternoon, I was able to pick up OS from work by 2:30pm. I dropped him off at a friend's house, then headed back home to put together a couple of LO's I had floating in my head.

I was lucky to have the quiet time...hubby was on the sofa in the den-SLEEPING, and Kat was in my bed-SLEEPING. Poor hubby had stayed online all night searching for truck parts and such, and poor Kat had stayed up for nearly 3 days while attending this year's PERSACON ANIME CONVENTION in Huntsville, AL.

Tuesday Thoughts...and a Challenge LO

#1. Having a Palmetto bug (wood roach with wings that FLY) crawl across my back makes me petrified with fear.
#2. Having that same bug crawl down my arm makes me scream while petrified with fear.
#3. Having it happen while sitting on the toilet makes for an embarrassing situation when hubby has to come save me.
#4. It takes 15 minutes for my blood pressure to calm down after having a panic attack followed by tears.
#5. Having ANOTHER Palmetto bug fly at my face while entering my bedroom makes me lose my mind!!
#6. Having that same bug LAND on my face causes me to scream like I'm dying.
#7. When having a bug on me, other than flinging it off of me, I can't doing anything but scream while petrified in one spot.
#8. Having hubby run to my rescue again, while laughing, didn't help my panic attack.
#9. Having hubby MISS the bug, and it run under my bed made for a very LONG night sitting in middle of bed with the lights on.
#10. After last nights terrifying events, my throat now hurts, my body is stiff, and I need a nap.

To understand more about my overwhelming fear about these bugs, I need to turn back the clock to when I was 9. My nanny was staying with us while recovering from hip replacement surgery and had been placed in my room...in my bed. So that had me sleeping in my brother's room. The lighting in his room wasn't that great, so I had taken a flashlight to bed with me so that I could read before going to sleep. Not long after burying myself under the covers, I heard this "swish" "swish" "swish" noise. Being 9, I was curious, threw back the covers and shined the light on the ceiling. No sooner had I exposed the light, 7-8 Palmetto bugs let go of the ceiling and flew towards me. Ever since that night, I am so petrified with fear, that it's hard to breathe, hard to move, and I can't do anything but scream. I've tried to overcome the fear, and for the most part I'm OK if it's during the daytime...but you let it be dark outside, and I'm back to being that same little 9 year old girl that can't get them off of me fast enough!!

Whew...ok...enough of that!! How about I share with you my latest LO!!

If you remember, last Thursday I had shared a LO that was part of a 2page challenge hosted by Idgie using Tina Williams Designs kits. Well, during my many hours of being awake last night, I managed to complete the 2nd page...lol

Tuesday Thoughts...and a LO

#1. My muse has returned!!
#2. I woke late last night with the ideas flowing faster than I could create!!
#3. My heart is still broken from the loss of "Little bit".
#4. It's hard looking at her little bed sitting on the middle of mine...
#5. Cleaning house has kept my mind off of the pain.
#6. OS is off of work for the day, so I'm not needed for TAXI SERVICE.
#7. Kat and I have decided to spend the day swimming at Alabama Adventures Theme Park.
#8. Thank goodness that we've invested in season passes, or our numerous trips would be WAY TOO expensive!!
#9. Speaking of investing, I need to purchase more ink so that i can print my latest page.
#10. Well, that's enough thoughts for the day...I'm off for a much needed swim!!

#3. Matt had a ride for work, leaving me plenty of free time.(scratch...scratch)
#4. Hubby was outside working on his truck, which meant I was practically alone for the entire day.(scratch...scratch)
#5. A cool breeze and mid 80 temps made for a pleasant day scanning photos on my front porch!!(scratch...scratch)
#6. Hubby giving bath to dog very close to my laptop, made me wet!!(scratch...scratch)
#7. Having Kat arrive home immediately after doggie bath kept me from having to brush the dog!!(scratch...scratch)
#8. Though a cool breeze was blowing, I still was attacked by huge skeeters!!(scratch...scratch)
#9. I'm now covered in HUGE welps from skeeter bites and from the poison oak that I got into yesterday while pulling up weeds.(scratch...scratch...scratch)

Tuesday Thoughts...and updates!!

#1. As usual, my procrastination is rearing it's ugly head...lol
#2. Thank goodness Monday is over!!
#3. Trying to create a scrap page while on meds means some of your journaling will be wrong.
#4. Not noticing mistake until 24 hours after posting to several galleries and groups creates stress.
#5. Having to make changes and re-upload page to several galleries and groups takes exactly an hour and half to accomplish. (Without potty breaks!!)
#6. Did you know that the mini batteries inside a cordless drill rechargeable battery can over heat when charging, causing them to explode?
#7. Mini battery exploding sounds like gunfire.
#8. Though small, it can leave a huge hole in your ceiling!!
#9. Bubbling battery acid smells nasty!!
#10. I've made a mental note to supervise the other rechargeable battery, just in case hubby accidentally puts it on wrong setting again.

**UPDATES**

Furbabies:
Yesterday, my daughter Kat and I were lying on a blanket in the backyard watching the clouds go by. All was peaceful until I started to go inside to refill my soda. Halfway to the door, I heard what sounded like a small bird chirping. I asked Kat to come over and listen. The chirping got louder near the fence...it wasn't chirping...it was the litter of kittens that the last momma cat had that we were never able to find!! 2 solid orange babies, 1 gray with white paws, and one tiger stripe!! Our total?? 9 adult cats, 6 frisky kittens, 4 in betweens, 3 itty bitty ones, 4 newborns & 1 Husky that thinks he's half human/half feline!!

Runtmiester is doing fine. The momma cat has begun nursing her again, so we haven't had to go replace the bottle...hehehe!! As for eating, her siblings are chowing away on dry food, but it takes forever for her to get one piece chewed, so we've started her on soft foods.

One of the 4 newborns has an eye infection that had caused it to scab over!! With them being in a box for the past few weeks with their momma, we didn't notice until today when they all started to venture out. This poor baby just stood there screaming it's lungs out cause it was alone. I spent nearly half an hour trying to saturate the area with warm water while gently wiping, then hubby spent another half hour. We finally got the eye cleared, but I'm afraid we may be too late to save it. The eye is cloudy and is twice the size of the normal eye. All I can do is continue to flush the eye every few hours with sterile water and pray that it clears.

Bathroom
My bathroom looks like it's getting worse!! Hubby is doing floor in sections, removing a sheet of plywood and repairing the damage underneath, then putting down new plywood. He's now in the middle of section 2 (out of 4), where most of the termite and water damage had occurred. Though the water heater is now reconnected to water and gas lines, the drain area is now leaking and hubby has had to cap it off. (Hoping the repair holds up for a while.) The old carpet has been ripped up and put in the trash pile, and the sink has been disconnected from the wall. I've stripped the wall paper border, and done tons of cleanup.

In the meantime, living in a house while doing a remodel is taking it's toil on my sanity, My den, kitchen and dinning rooms look like a tornado came through!! Mind you, most days I'm not the best housekeeper due to my R.A., but this is BEYOND trashed!! I won't disgust you by going into the gory details for fear of scaring you...just trust me it's worse than anything you can imagine!!

Creative Team's
I am actually having a blast being on 4 CT's!! Once I got everything organized and learned everyone's rules, I was able to get into a smooth flow!! This is what I will be or have been doing this week...

For Nayyan: I've been searching through all of my photos for the perfect beach scenes for my LO requirements for the week. Her kit just screams summer and beach!! 1 down, and 3 to go!!

Lorene has started a Forum for all scrappers to get together and have fun, called Scrapin' Party. There's ALL KINDS of freebies, and even a cool challenge going on!! C'mon over and enjoy the fun!!

For Tina: I'm working with one of her awesome vintage kits. So be on the look out for more heritage pages!!

For Kathryn, it truly is all about the elements!! I've got several pages I'm working on. They're under wraps right now...hush hush...top secret stuff. So you'll just have to stay tuneded for Sunday's review, or stop my galleries sometime this week to check if I've uploaded anything. *giggles* You'll know it when you see it!! :D

Anywhoos, I think that about covers everything. I'm off to get lost in PSP!!

'Til next time...Happy Scrappin'!!

Tuesday Thoughts

#1. Utility room floor still sits un-moved, un-touched, un-repaired.
#2. New washer can not be picked up until floor is repaired.
#3. New washer still sits at hhgregg, with the pick up day moved to Thursday.
#4. Wonders if lighting a fire under hubby's...ahem...cough...will get him motivated to move.
#5. Once all repairs are made and washer is in place, will I be able to make a dent in the pile of laundry that has now filled the bathtub and overflowing to the floor?
#6. Why do I suddenly feel doom and gloom lurking overhead?
#7. Old washer and dryer scheduled for pick up next Monday.
#8. Hubby has found very creative ways to put off starting on floor.
#9. I have thought of very creative ways of doing bodily harm to hubby.
#10. I'm in pain up to my eyeballs...(says with a "Smiling Bob" fake smile)...can someone help me? (drives away on riding lawnmower)

Tuesday Thoughts

#1. As usual, I'm running late!!
#2. Laptops do not get internet connection properly without electricity.
#3. The electrical company hires very rude men that are sent to cut off power.
#4. Hubby was not a happy camper.
#5. Rushing out the door to pay electrical, gas, & cable took 2 hours.
#6. Reconnection would not be for another 5 hours.
#7. Took Kat to the MALL to talk to someone about a job.
#8. Car doors will not open when locked and keys are still in the ignition.
#9. MAKE NOTE NEVER TO CALL KAT'S FRIENDS TO HELP WITH A PROBLEM.
#10. Thank goodness OS worked across the street and his co-worker let me borrow his car to pick up hubby with his "break-into-car-kit"!!
#11. OS got off work at same time hubby got door open.
#12. The best way to end the day is by going out to eat Italian!!

Tuesday Thoughts

#1. I don't know which is worse...my addiction to scrap everything, my addiction to PSP, or my addiction of collecting the most graphics and scrap kits I can get my hands on!!

#2. I really need to find a great external hard drive to put all of my kits and graphics on, so I can make room on my laptop, and stop putting on CD's.

#3. CD's eventually can become corrupted and lose data!!

#4. I'm suppose to be scrapping a page or two today, but my creativity has left the building for the moment.

#5. Hubby had me look up the type of washer/dryer I want and give him the model numbers. Think he's trying to find it at a better price.

#6. Why do men have to put us women on a spending limit?? I hate budgets...lol

#7. My daughter & I are saving $$ to get season passes to a local water/theme park. Will have to invest in waterproof/disposable cameras to scrap our visits!!

#8. Danggit, I don't have a swimsuit that fits...for that matter...I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT!! ARGH!!

#9. Holy Cow...I need to have a talk with Ms. Clairol about a reoccurring problem I'm having!!

#10. Wonder if I can squeeze a mani & pedi into the budget...
